newbie

Post by cplagarn »

Hi all

Im new here and Ive been slowly restoring an EK ute (another one!) that I bought a few years ago. Ill try and post some pics in the next few weeks. I was wondering if I could put forward my tag info.

Chassis FB45922m, engine J156152

Id tag:

Body 2106 1635M
Trim 545 1035
Paint 585 4588

Can someone explain why the chassis no. is an FB code and the tag has an Ek code? Is this common or has something dodgy been done?

thanks

Fair enough about the front end being replaced :) , I wasn't sure if it was something done at the factory to use up surplus FB subframes taking up space.

I was pulling some bits off a ute in a paddock the other day and it didnt have anything stamped in the subframe - must have been a replacement subframe when the ute was near new .......
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

 Or maybe just a replacement skirt after a collision??.

Mate of mine has a LC GTR Torana and has fitted a NOS skirt to
it that has no subframe number on it and has had to restamp the original number from the old damaged skirt.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
