No they are a different to the standard mount.

Rare spare sells the mount for an EK/FB with HR front end.

Gents,
The HR outrigger is a different design and length to the FB/EK. All HR cross members fitted to EK/FB should have the outrigger replaced from FB/EK. The rubber then will be original FB/EK type.
I have also seen modified HR outriggers that use the HR type mount but they have had serious work done to achieve it.

I fitted a one piece outrigger rubber, that doesn't seem to fit right.
They said they now make a universal one for FE to EH :?
mine originally came with a two piece.
Has any one else had this problem before?

cheers Rob

Rob,
If you have a look under my fb/ek ( Chev EK ) page 4 it has a shot of my outrigger and rubber, 1 piece as per rare spares. Your photo appears to show the outrigger is in the wrong location. What did the front end come off another EK or EH or something else? Have you installed the correct rubbers from the front end to the subframe? From memory there is 2 thicknesses ( Anybody confirm?)

Thanks Greg,
the crossmember/outrigger is standard, the car has a standard drum brake front end.
I havn't replaced the other subframe rubbers, all I had done is removed the old 2 piece outrigger rubber mount, and fitted a one piece .
I was informed that there was only 1 style rubber to fit FE to EK with drum brake front. ( is this right?)

The old worn out 2 piece rubber mount was at least 5mm thicker on the top than the new mount :? so I checked the manual to see if I was fitting it right, and I was. But it just doesn't fit right

I was then informed that "we have sold thousands with no problems", so I can't understand what i am doing wrong.

Does anyone know where I can buy an old 2 piece mount from :?:

cheers Rob

Hmm, I have just gone through this with a smartarse up in Queensland who sell on Ebay. I was sold an outrigger rubber to suit a FB. Stated so in the ebay advertisement.

Well after fitting (the non/ill fitting product) it looks 100% the same as Rob's photograph above. I emailed the seller and advised them/him that it was NOT correct and should revise his ebay advert. He replied ripping me a new arse hole telling me I was an insult to my ebay username! ROFL  and how the item is CORRECT.

Well I say "BULLSHIT" and just because Rare Spares sell them and tell people they are correct or some Woodduck on ebay who thinks he is an expert on all things Holden say so, doesn't make it fact.

Just so everybody knows the CORRECT part numbers are 7409155 Lower and 7409154 Upper are the REAL part numbers and the crap being past on to consumers is REPRODUCTION EJ-EH 7423392.

It is true that "later" Holden master parts manual's suggest 7423392 as a 1 piece replacement FE-FC-FB-EK but as we (who have fitted one know) it is NOT anywhere near correct and this was REVISED at a later date.

It was also noted in the email to me QUOTE: "& for the record, negative feedback / slanderous, unfounded comments would have been pursued to the Courts if needed be....." NICE

BRING IT ON!, I'm sick of being RIPPED OFF by so called "Restorers Parasites".

Smooth, I hear ya.
Repro Co's should either get the product right, or don't make it at all, then place the correct cost required to produce that part for sale!,
but if they produce parts, with a thats that attitude, it all you can get and quality is so bad that nothing fits, because there dies and tooling is all wrong, then offer the parts as seconds product and list it at 1/8 of what it is really worth. Simply because its wrong anyway and is not going to fit.
The number of Taiwanese body panels out there, some good and some well- there that bad you can't even fit them, the same is happening with lenses and headlights, but there still asking mega bucks cause you just can't get them. What bugs me is the salesperson's are so arrogant, they have no idea what the restorer has to go through when sourcing parts, and to find there of poor quality and fit is a REAL LIFE DRAMA. The hassle alone to find them is hard enough without the hustle of the salesperson claiming there the right ones after you purchased them.

Smooth,

Send me a PM please with the username of the Rectum Reamer on Evilbay that is selling ill fitting parts so that I can avoid him and his attitude when I buy my new crossmember rubber kit in the next few weeks.

Terry.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Thanks Smooth,

I was starting to think, I was the only one with this problem

I even took my old 2 piece mount in with the part number showing, and was told, we have no records of that number

I eventually sorted mine out with a very good second hand pair of rubber mounts

Well I know it doesn't help anyone with a standard front end, but the Rare Spares Rubber Kit for HR into EK works a treat! Everything fitted well.

Smooth, he sounds like an absolute wanker who likes to intimidate online. I bet he wouldn't be like that face to face! Usually is the case, Karma will get him...
