Rare Spares cable set up for Red motors

Post by J »

Just bought one yesterday, it has a hanging down pedal insted of one just on the floor.

I bought it and my mechanic had to make heaps of modifications to make it fit, and it only has 2 speeds.... slow or flat out. No in between.

Has anybody else had this problem? How do i fix it?

sounds very strange, but then that's to be expected from rares stuff (not fitting after forking out good money)

I bought one of them for my HR ute years ago and ended up binning the bloody thing and using a HJ-Z one
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

I got just the pedal assembely just before Xmas. Thought it would be a 10 min. job, take the old out and bolt the new in. The arm which the linkage attaches to was different so I had to pull out the linkages , heat them with the oxy, and bend them until it was working. Trial and error was the go, a couple of hours later a Bobs your uncle, finally got it to work. At least I now have full throttle, and it works really good, no slop at all. I dont get it either, I thought a cable throttle would be alot smoother and more responsive than a linkage set up.
Dave.
I'd rather drive something made of metal, not plastic!

Don't worry, two speeds aint that bad.....

The AMG Mercedes and M series BMWs at work only have one speed when I drive them - flat out
