More abandoned finned wonders

Post by Sunny Rob »

Seeing the Coomer tin prompted me to drag out the photo album
and post some pics of some of the FBEK rustys I had come across.
Now before you all start reachin for the nav-man & no-dose, I must add that most of these pics were taken back in the wild & heady 80's (well, for some people at least).
First 2 pics are from Grafton wreckers.

Next 3 shots are from a persons collection about 20 mile outside of Ipswich on Toowoomba road ( must google earth it later).
Was sizeing up the decapitated FB ute for a bubble top project  .
There was some fairly cool stuff in this yard if your interests go beyond
FBEK's, including a Chrysler Royal Plainsman , early Chevs, etc.
But check out the FB doors on the EK in the roo enclosure. There was also some sort of trim added to the back doors inside the flash as I remember
there were holes drilled.

The bush along Depot road (just up from that old petrol station/flower shop for you Qlanders) hid this panel van. Which was just as well as it
had reached the "rooted" stage of its life.

An FC on Stanborough Rd going through a similar change of life as the van. Must have been a racer at some stage, note mirror.

An ex ghoulfriend use to work for a tow company, drivin tows, doing counter work, the boss, the boss's nextdoor neighbours uncle, the uncles
Irish cousin, the.....Sorry went off story there, the tow company was one
of the first to offer the service of removing all those unsightly wrecks from
peoples yards for a fee. The place was off Sandgate road and was a great place to scrounge around, all at um,,,, discounted prices.

Thats right its not an FBEK ute.

Sorry I didnt get a better pic of the green van. I remember it had gauges
moulded in where the swiches were.
More later.....

You & me both chopped. $600.00 buys the 34 MoPar.
Now all we need is a time machine back to 87. I missed out on it by a day.
