Jacksons 225 FB Fernando Yellow Nitro + FB Double Trouble

Post by Aussie Bob »

I will put some more pics up when I can. Here is the difference from Nitro in the foreground and Acrylic in the Background. Both original Factory finishes.

Very Early - FB Fernando yellow / Arctic beige Nitro

Very Late - FB Satellite Yellow with Grecian White Acrylic.

Hi Rob, the paints are very different in texture.

If the paint is original on your car, and your paint number on the ID Tag starts with 256 or 253 its original Nitro finish.

Magic Mirror Acrylic starts with 585.

As far as Nitro goes I remember my dad still using it into the late sixties (maybe even the seventies) to paint all sorts of things - it had a different smell to the later acrylic.

When did Holden stop using it altogether as a finish?

Any old painters out there remember when it went out of production, full stop?

Is the old heater any good?

I know Stewart! How cool.

I haven't started the motor yet, just working with the paint first.
