I always see the aussie 4 speed being used but not the 3 speed. Is there a reason for this or is it just because there are 4 gears in a 4 speed
an old fella told me he used these boxes for racing so they would be a strong enough box
They are also loads cheaper to buy then an aussie 4
Is there a reason for this?
Is there something bad about them?
Will an aussie 4 floor shifter fit a 3 speed?

pretty much what you said first 4 gears
you can put the 4 speed shift on but you'll have to make brackets or use the 4 speed extension housing, if you've got to buy it you might aswell get the 4 speed unless you have the stuff already
its one of those things, everyone has a different oppinion, one bloke told me he loved the 3 speed for the old strret races cause while the other guyz were changin gears he was pullin away.
but im pretty sure (from what ive been told) the end ratio is the same as the 3 spd, so i personally think if ur gonna go through the hassle of changin boxs u may as well put in the jap box, preferably supra if you want stronger but celica is very good too
I found that a standing quater mile the 3 speed was quicker than the 4 prob because of fewer gear changes
but for 0-60 the 4 speed was quicker prob because of more ratios to climb through
I do already have the 3 speed but thats it so far.
I dont need a strong strong box like the supra box I just want a decent box.
I have an opel 4 speed but found out there not the greatest box.
so my options are to go with the M15 or rebuild the crash box But Im thinking the M15 is the way to go because it will be bolted to a 202 and the M15 is more suited to the 202.
I had a bit of a look and I reckon I can hook the HR column shift up to the box with a bit of playin around
i've heard of the collum shift connection being done so it is possable, if you don't know you'll want to find a HD/HR auto gearbox crossmember and tailshaft for the conversion
does anyone have a pic or can explain the set up for the cover that goes over the hole where the clutch fork goes through the belhousing on the aussie 3 and 4 speed gearboxes.
