Meeting point: Southbound BP Yatala – 9:00am
Depart: 9:30am Southbound on the M1 motorway.
Travel down the M1 towards Nerang,
Taking the Southport – Nerang road exit at Molendinar.
Follow this road over the M1 where it becomes Price Road.
Keep following and road becomes Beaudesert-Nerang road.
Keep following straight on and road becomes Nerang – Murwillumbah road.
Stop at the Natural Arch car park to regroup and take a quick peek at the natural arch falls. It’s a brief walk to the falls and is a lovely spot.
Back onto the Nerang – Murwillumbah road and keep heading south over the range.
We’ll pass through the NSW/QLD Tick Gates and head down the range to a little village called Chillingham;
we’ll meet out the front of the general store on the left.
We’ll be heading east along the Nerang – Murwillumbah road towards the town of Murwillumbah.
Follow this road straight on and it will become the Numinbah road. We’ll follow Numinbah road until a Tee Intersection where we’ll turn right towards the Murwillumbah.
We’ll stop approx 3km’s up on the left beside a school sports ground. (Room for all of us to line up.)
From here we’ll travel on through Murwillumbah, Left at Tee interception at top of hill into Murwillumbah St.
Then right into Brisbane St. At the round-a-bout take the first exit onto Wollumbin St, (At shopping Centre.)
At the next round-a-bout take the second exit onto Alma st, Once over the bridge we’ll gather at the park on the left to re-group.
We’ll head east again and take the first exit at round-a-bout onto the Tweed Valley MWY.

First exit (straight through) next round about, continuing along Tweed valley MWY. Well turn right at
Condong (Just past sugar mill.) onto Clothiers Creek Road and follow it east to Cabarita Beach (Bogangar).
To head home, back track along clothiers Creek road and take the M1 north bound and head home up the M1.
Looking at 140Klms from the Yatala BP to Cabarita Beach and a 2 hour drive + stops.
Please be aware road from Nerang to Murwillumbah is narrow, winding and steep, so check your car over and be safe.
However it’s a beautiful drive and a fantastic panorama as you pass over the border.
It’s a historic area first settled by the timber getters who worked through this area with bullock teams removing the highly prized timber, most recently the fertile land inside the tweed valley support a busy sugar cane
industry as well as Bananas in the higher passes.

Natural arch may be up to 10deg this time of year so if your game you can risk it.
However the beach should be pleasant this time of year.
