Wiper Knob

Post by Timmy »

Can anyone tell me if the wiper knob centre is meant to be different from the lights and choke knob. My wiper knob has a silver ring insert with a black dot in the middle whereas the others have only a silver insert.

methinks thats a button for a pre-emptive upgrade for a washer pump.

Hi Timmy,
as I remember my original - it had a black plastic domed centre about 3 mm in diameter...... ish.....

These knobs fit to a hex shaft and are held in place with a small grub screw...

I later found another at the wrecker's which had the push button arrangement and have it fitted.... I have not connected the push-pin at the other end to anything yet - I am leaning towards having it mechanically operate a micro switch which will activate a relay for the washer motor.....

Another project "in waiting".....

frats,
Rosco
