Yes the FJ coupe is owned by my father's cousin. He is 80 years old and built the car with a limited budget with one of his mates in his shed! Abolutely amazing given the constraints. It has a late model Commodore motor etc with cruise control, power steeer, air cond.
I have some pictures but not sure how to attach them. Perhaps I could ask someone to attach them for me.......
As you say he built an EJ convertible back in 1963/4, ordering a brand new body from GMH and shortening it 4 inches filling in the rear door and leaving the front doors the standard length. My father painted the car which was sold no long later and has not been seen again.

Hi hoary morrie, welcome to the forum,
You should see if your dads cousin has any pics of the ej to share with us.
I moved to the Wynnum area in 76 and remember a few custom cars that were around at the time. ( one was an fe-fc wagon with fins almost as high as the roof with a row of tail lights down each fin. Another was a mid 50's packard with the roof cut off, & a spair wheel in the boot).
Iv seen a feature of the ej in an early Aussie hot rod mag, I'll see if I can find it.
Also see his coupe and his ute getting around.

I tried to get a picture of the EJ convertible recently, as Don Loffler was interested in putting it in his next book. Unfortunately the pictures have not been found. All I have is a newspaper article from back then but I do remember a feature of it in an old car magazine too.
Yes he lives at Wynnum and has been inthe area most of his life. I wish I had some of his talent......
If you run into him tell him you'll pay him $100,000 for the car. I guarantee it he will not sell it!

Them were the days indeed Tim. Good times.SunnyTim wrote:Hey Rob
I remember the Packard on White's road but not the FC wagon.
So many cars - How about that red & white FB that took on the AWON bus, the Orange Morris Minor with the MGA 1600 that could carry 9 people or the rare ex-English Police &*#@ Customline :D
Happy Days
