Surge tank

Post by ekdave1962 »

hi Guys now the yellow peril is running i need to add a few more improvements ..

one been a surge tank , what have other used orignally i was going to get a ebay or autobarn unit and mount it in the boot with a low pressure high volume external pump but the pumps all seem to be internal units ..
2nd thought was a under car surge tank that allowed fuel to run in under gravity holding a litre or 2 and running the hi pressure pump off that ..

idea appreciated ..

Here is mine from the  bay. Be careful as I found mine had a pin hole in one of the welds and I can't get in contact with the guy I got it from now, funny that. I am off to get it fixed today.

Have the EFI pump pick up on the bottom, the next one up is the fuel line return, then the over flow back to the tank and a breather back to the tank on the top...
Whatever....:(

In my tonner i run an external tank with a low volume pump to draw fuel from the petrol tank and feed it in. I then run a VL high pressure pump to the motor. Works great and no chance of the pump running dry.

Bought a kit from a 4WD conversion place here in dandenong. cost bugger all and was set up within a day

Cheers
