Panel beater/painter in Perth

Post by King »

Can anybody recommend a good place for a strip, bare metal rust repair (minor) and respray in Perth? Quotes here in Kalgoorlie are little hard to swallow.

Thanks

what would you want to be paid as a reasonable rate for your time spent earning a crust??? my eh complete rubber kit was over around $1200 through a mate who in the windscreen trade. sounds feasable and realistic to me. have you seen their work? thats what i would be looking at. very labour intensive. pay peanuts get a monkey...... jim

Jim,

I expected at least one reply along those lines. I'm quite happy for skilled tradesmen to charge rates that cover all their costs and allow them to make a nice profit a live comfortably. The break down of the quote shows a similar price for the rubbers as you were charged, and looking at my reasearch it is about the price I expected.

My query arrose when a friend who is a qualified panel beater, has worked in the business here for > 20 years, is flat out busy and occasionally gets "tidy up" jobs to complete/neaten work done by the people who gave me my quote told me that it was excessive. He said "That's alot and they're a bit rough. I'm too busy. You should try down in Perth".

I thought I'd take the advice of an expert, hence my question about businesses in Perth worth approaching.

Always worth the question, that part doesn't cost anything  , you just have to be ready for some answers that you might not like :D .
Maybe ask your mate if he would guide you along the way of doing it yourself? (not that you haven't already) Trev 8) .

i think you need to buy your mate??? more piss. none of my mates would flag of a good mate. i have an uncle who is a spray painter i could ask him for you. he works on weekends now.. my mate had his xb gt just panelled and painted. panel work done in one place and paint in another place.... all comes down to my first point..... how much flash do you want to part with??? pm me your details and of car and i'll get some names and phone numbers to you.. some blokes prefer not stripping or just have it rock up all ready to go to work on. all these variable... you want to just drop it off and return with it finished?? any thing to help
