Door Moulds

Post by Malcolm »

Hi all, a couple of questions for those who know FB's & EK's

1/ Is the door & front guard moulds on an EK the same profile (shape) as the moulds on an FB rear door and quater. In other words can you use EK front guard and door moulds to match up with rear door and quater panel moulds on an FB????

2/ If you have a door mould that is cracked or you want to join to make longer can they be welded????

3/ Can you get new mould clips from anywhere????

Your input on this would be appreciated.

Cheers all

1) Dunno - Smooth? can you help on this one ?
2) Yes, there is a bloke over here who can weld and polish stainless trims so I am sure there will be one on your side of the swamp.
3) Rare Spares make some clips but not others - there are generic ones that will do the job, Reidy is the man to speak to about this - he wrote a novel about this very subject not too long ago that will answer all your queries in this regard.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

FB-EK Holden rear door moulds are the same 100% (Same Part Numbers) meaning the EK Front Guard mould (profile) would match the rear door and rear quarter panel moulds no problem!
