Ek Sedan Project - Supercharged Chev
Cheers guys for all the feedback, always greatly appreciated. My apologies for the delay in responses but shits just insane atm. My uncle (best man for the wedding) had a heart attack last week, so trying to keep across too much stuff.
Gary ........... nothing can deal with bridzilla at the moment !!! I promised the missus I wouldnt work overtime for the leading 8 weeks before the wedding ( get ontop of crap like seating, find somewhere for photos, cars for bridesmaids/grooms etc )....... Last night I get called whilst asleep ( bridzilla next to me ) at 00:30 for a total of an hour by work. Had to go out there and sort problems. She went ballistic at the guy who called up !!! He gave me condolenses for the up coming marriage !! hahahaha.
Trev credit were credit is due mate
They did a fair bit of metal work also, bonnet, sills , rear quaters, dog legs lipping of guards. Not sure if you can see the amount of room now under the rear wheels compared to before, no scrubbing !!.
Matty the grill plus the rest of the stainless steel was all re-polished. Work was done by Alan Mccoy and it came up beautifully. Very happy by the work done by him mate, no compliants what-so-ever. Highly reccommended.
t950cat Agreed mate !! the origin was a fn disgrace !!! Should have got some sleep instead !!
John the car is registered mate, no probs with the engineering etc. Only problem at the moment is the sump has about 5mm clearance to the front cross member. So its looking like a bit of the ole chop chop on the cross member. I think all the new rubbers have sunk in, I also want to raise the gearbox - spacer plate, which should lower the pitch on the scoop ( just a little
).
Gazrat, I did originally purchase the EJ for the missus. And technically it is still "her car". But damn mate I enjoy driving it... its temporarily my car ( as bridzilla puts it ) since both the EKs are off the road. Its bloody reliable, quick enough to put the foot down but not insane ... great cruiser with the V8. Drove it from Sydney to the Gold Coast and back without a drama last Christmas.
I did change the braking, the booster is now under the drivers guard so the body tag is visible - like seeing the 235A, its also got a polished master cylinder now. Next will be re-wiring of the engine bay to hide it all, then the motor out for a re-kit and spray the bay. Still not sure if I should put the prem badges back on but Id love to get an original white wheel back on the column.



Really loving the EJ mate , its in good hands.
Hood lining on the EK Sedan has gone in, glass to go in on monday. So tomorrow get my arse into gear and fit the interior stainless roof strip in. Will try and get some pics ..... need sleep

Where is the wedding on, We can all go and gate crash it and have a good time.
Seriously, there is nothing more stressful, than to have a bride thats stressed out. Things just don't seemed to go right untill the big day, everythings a gigantic panic then you wonder what all the drama was about.
Best of luck with the arrangements, we won't hassle you from now on, so you can concentrate on the things most important.

Still playing with the front end, not sure where the hell I want it sitting. I cant work out whether I like the front guard lowered past the rubber, or the guard sitting at the outer tyre height. Input more then welcome because its got me fu#@ed !!!!
Heres comparison, please note both pics have same rubber and wheels , just different front height. The track width for both shots still hasnt been pulled into the car (new rotors/stubs etc still to be fitted)

EXACTLY my thought Ratbox. The top photo looks more street as well...less like you just drove off the 1/4 mile strip. I like the guards over the tyres
Thats exactly how I have my race car exaust but with one muffler only.
I have tried with the extractor pipes only on a DYNO then with the pipes and then with a muffler.
The engine makes 5 more horses with the muffler and pipes connected and the join in the middle stops the barking as you said. It also helps create equal harmonics a good thing !
