How do inner guard extractors perform..

Post by Harko »

Hi all , How do the subframe exiting extractors on v8s in EK FB perform ?
I am mainly keen to know if the engine bay is hot around the firewall /floor area , and on the flipside if v8s running extractors exiting through the bottom inside the rails run hot on the floor ?
Easily distracted angle manipulator extrordinaire.

was told years ago by an old guy that had spent alot of his life building pipes for cars that unless they are propper designed and tuned length that they aren't much beefit over manifolds

the van and ute with holden V8's and pipes that ran down beside the engine had no heating issues either running hot or heat in the cabin

If your worried about heat from the pipes, you can have them ceramic coated, that will hold the heat in the pipe and not let the area around the pipe get hot.I have seen how good these coatings can reduce exhause temps. It also is a corrotion resistant coating which helps the pipes last longer, Cheers PAT :)
