G'day Steve.. I had 3 spray shops in town, have a look at that paint code. To no avail
They have programs on computer that list a hell of a lot of codes PPG, Glasirit, HPM and Dupont and none of those list any code that resembles.

Maybe its a import colour or special fleet colour.
The closest colour for 585 is Banff Blue.

Sorry Mate
Regards John

Leroy knows his stuff.

Are you sure it's 0105 ? Haven;t heard of a 585-0105 before, going back as far as FB ?

0115 is Wedgewood blue and 0104 is Brigade Red ?

Thanks John and Finny for your efforts. Much appreciated.

Leroy, you are amazing with your knowledge!

It was reported to be an ex Melbourne Detectives car.

The colour is very close in colour to Morning Grey.

The only other reference to the paint number is this ....

"Hey Guys. My other half has owned over 100 EH,s (no its not a typo} since 1978, so he knows his way around them. But this one even has him stumped.
At the weekend we purchased yet another project to start once my ute is completed shortly. Its an EH van but the ID tags to not compute with anything we have come across before. They read as follows:

Body EH 2104M - S11 -8523A
Trim 904-C48
Paint 585-0105

Small body tag under main tag reads - M018630

Main subframe chassis number is EH 82975M

Maybe Peter Smol might be able to throw some light on this as it really has us wondering. The van is very original except that it has had a Gem 186 replacement engine fitted.

The other half seems to think the S11 component of the body number might stand for a service vehicle of some sort. There appears to be a hole been repaired in the middle of the roof, in the rear section that has been an arial of some sort.
He knew a bloke called Brett from Qld a few years back that had a van with a similar body number (including the S) but we have lost contact with him.
Hope someone can help.
Regards utegirl"

Cant claim the credit for that one Im pretty sure I got it from Dr.Terry after I found an HZ ute with the same codes. I would love to know who ordered them that colour.

A side note fleet colours can (generally) be picked by the combination number the ranges are 500-599, 900-999 and I have found 1 in the 1600's

Here are the colour differences from the cars ...

1. Cameo Beige

2. Kiewa Grey

3. Morning Grey

All factory finishes.

Hi Tim, the front R/H guard has been replaced, it's an FB. In painting the guard, they painted behind the grill on the R/H side. Then to match it .... They painted behind the grill on the other  You can see the touch up on the RH side of the bonnet from that guard damage.

The paint is factory in most places. The inside is original paint. The rear screen appears to be original trim? :?
