Window Regulator.

Post by DNA »

Wound my window up the other day and now seems thats where its sitting for good.

I can continually wind it up or down and it just sits there, so seems it busted up pretty good.

If anyone has a spare I am happy to part with the hard earned stuff for one.

Let me know.

Are you sure its the regulator ? It could be the clamp on the base of the glass.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

And/or the actuator arm wheel has slipped out of the guide channel.Sometimes happens as well.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Our van had similar problems cos the bottom channel had rusted away and was sitting in base of the door. John went to U-Pull it, found a HJ window already out of a car, broke the glass and brought the channel home, cut it to length and welded it to the original mechanism. Works a treat now. :D

But ssshhhhhh! Don't tell anyone on the FE FC forum we did that cos it's not good for "originality" and, when hell freezes over and we enter it in a show, we'll never win cos they'll "know" that it's not an original mechanism behind that door trim!
