2 Speed Wipers, Electric windows.
2 Speed Wipers, Electric windows.
Hi all,
Once again I need to pick the brains of those who know,
I need to put 2 speed wipers into the FB. Can anyone suggest which is the best way to go. Which setup used ect.
Also has anyone fitted electric windows to an FB or EK. If so which type did you use. Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers
Malcolm

Thanks Greg,
Someone told me that a EH or HR wiper motor could be adapted but I don't know about that.

G'day Mal.
I used a Subaru for mine, the linkage setup was a challenge to phase in right, but you can go the real easy way and give Castlemaine Auto Electrics a go, they do all sorts of two speed motors for all aplications there Phone No: 03 54721442 Actually I have just noticed that they have changed there name to Castle Automotive Enterprises, still same Ph No though.

Regards John

John,
What model subi did the wiper motor come from????
Did it mount that way and park where it is supposed to, or is that more of your handy work.
Mate your car is an inspiration to us all I'm sure. I have also removed the crappy filler panel between the front and rear doors. It just makes it look so much neater.
As with yours I'm also doing the full side window thing. But are going to do both front and rear. The only thing that I can see is the rear windows will need a small filler in the rear corner to allow the window to go down far enough.
Cheers

I have been veiwing your progress and she's comin up a treat, I saw that you have straight edged your doors which is great and is an individual thing, mainly your thing which I admire.
Its great to get ideas here and there and throw them in the pot and see what you brew up.
There is many a car on the road with the safe attitude to mods and everyone uses or copies other peoples ideas without any changes or input of there own.
I went to rod show in Bankstown Square once apon a time, just after the FJ movie came out and on display there were 3 EH panos done the same way as the one in the movie, now why you would do that I have no idea!
Oh the wiper motor is out of a 98 B4 liberty. I pilfered it out of my apprentices half cut.
Cheers John,
PS Keep up the good work.

If you ring Ken at Hoppers Stoppers in Hoppers Crossing , Vic , he does an exchange deal on your original wiper motor. I bought one off him - it was $80 from memory - complete with switch and wiring info and the whole process was a bolt in 15 minute job.
Easiest mod I did to the whole car !

I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

if you already have an EK electric set up as fb is vacum all you need is a two speed switch and hook it up through a resistor as low speed and second speed is standard which is prety fast any way
as for windows someone i knew used, i hate to say it hyundai electric motors which are cheap and are just a push straight up and down setup
