oh well 3 second hand alternators....
none worked...

with fanbelts i got one too small, took it back, then got one too big and it snapped. Then i bought 2 differnent sizes and the first one i tried worked so it was all good...

except the belt slipping and making that gay noise, still happens when i start it but chalk saved it from doing it at other times....

J, try putting soap on the belt (rub a cake of soap along the belts underside and scrape the soap on the belt so it shaves soap off), this does work. Safer to do with the motor off

I dunno but I was told not to put a new belt on when ya put a different anythin of those three pulleys on.
Got told to use the old belt until the paint or crap or rust got taken off after a trip or two .. then put a new one on.

Spose if ya didnt have one to fit first ya would have to put a newwy on.

And got told when ya by a new belt dont by one .. by two - chuck the old one away.. put a newwy on and keep a newwy in the boot.
Got told a lot of cars brake down like this cause the old belt was stuffed when a newwy was put in the boot.

Im making a pest of meself with annoyin ya tonight - parden me pleese
