Thanks guys,
Im at the point where power steering is extremely atractive and I have time to change my direction!
Anyone want to buy a HR front end with rack and pinion to suit a chev into FB EK????????
Would be keen on info if anyone has it on the cortina powersteer to the torana front end.
Sorry for the hijack Gary.

So many cars so little time!
Thanks for the posts guys.
Stubby, I sent you a PM weeks ago about the chassis rails
Made up some seat belt mount plates, started the sub-frame beef up to mount the rear section of the Torana K frame to and made up the sections to join the sill to the relocated chassis rails (just in front of the back wheels) at last.

Seat belt doubler plates welded and painted.

These are the sections for the Torana mount (base only) slots are to fit over the original pressings in the sub frame. Material is 100 x 50 x 3 RHS. I still have to fab the brackets to locate the Torana bushes in (will post pics when done).

Sill to chassis section - made from 1.6mm black steel sheet.

Gotta agree there Dave
,
This build has to be one of the best, quickest and most picture informative that I've seen here and on other forums in last few years.
It's an absolute credit to you V8EK4us to your engineering and fabrication skills.
.
Keep all the build up pics for when you go to get it engineer certified for rego.

I can't think what to write here so this will do.
............
Im continually amazed at your dedication and to the extent in which you have and are going to for this car..........
Most definitely a credit to you...........

Thanks for the post and words of encouragement

The main mounts for the torana (LH-LX) frontend are finished (still have rear outrigger mounts to do - will post pics when these are done). I have notched out the top section of the frame to give more clearance for the Torana upper wishbone, also done this so the guy (a good mate) doing the wheel alignment doesn't belt the crap out of me for making it too difficult to adjust
. Only the top section is notched and it basically only removes the "humps" and the "pressed flange" from the pressings around the mounts, the wheel alignment shim bolts are very close and would cause problems for anyone doing the wheel alignment in the future if this area is not notched out.
I will make some covers to go over the cutouts. Also welded up the holes on the inner guards. I have posted pics from different angles to help if anyone else is thinking about the torana frontend graft
.
I have attached a pic of the rear parcel shelf covered and speakers fitted, doors and console are being done at the moment.
Cutouts for Torana frontend (not totally necessary but makes it all fit better and easier for grumpy wheel aligners
).

Section of 3mm RHS welded in:

CRS chassis plates stiched in place:

Fully welded:

Rear parcel shelf:
