If the rest of the car ends up looking "busy" ( flash, those front guard vents, etc), an out of bonnet blower may make the car look messy overall.

If it's gonna be all one single colour with a minimum of "bling", then I'd go a juicy 6-71 blower.

Just my opinion.

If you can legally have a blown engine (and it's what you wanted from the start) just do it :!: .
If you don't there will be the nagging in the back of your mind how you should have done it.
As for too much bling, I think the blower would set off all the other stuff you are doing.
DO IT :D , Trev 8) .

V8EK4us,
I agree with Trev if you want it just do it !
Interestingly enough though the horse power figures you are wanting do need some special thought and lots of considerations can be had to achieve it.
For example my little 283 chev makes 295 rwhp and it is only mildly worked and I have reached 250kmh with it in a 1500kg car. That was down conrod straight at bathurst (with a radar). It does and allways will scare the crap out of me but thats why I do it! Strange I know.
I suppose the point im trying to make is that the EK is much lighter and if you get the power wieght ratios right the car could be a weapon. Its the overall package that will reap the best reward and that also goes for the motor. Heads, cam, compression ratio, induction and exhaust will be a big factor for the mighty small block chev. Get the package to compliment each other and you can achieve big horses without a lot of headache and drama.
I must say I used to love blowers but my eyes were opened when I started racing in the dinosaur class.
Have you been to Darwin and watched the BIANTE guys running around?
All 500 plus horsepower cars with either holleys IDAs or side draught webbers and not that much slower than the V8 class!!
Anyway just food for thought. You can allways change things after the car is running as no doubt there will be bugs.

Keep the pictures coming everyone is certainly enjoying the top quality work your doing.

Regards Greg

Gday Gary
Your setting a cracking pace with this build,
I'm looking forward to seeing it done,
Which won't be that far off, the way your going.

As for the induction.........whatever you want
any of those set ups would be cool

Cheers

Thanks Thommo and Billy. Billy, if you need more info on the console just let me know :D .

Gauges turned up today!!

Image

The only small tacho Autometer make is this one (on the right side of the main cluster) so I will change the bezel from another spare gauge so they all look the same. I am going to try and set a pencil "shift light" into the top of the alloy steering column surround when I make it  .

Hi, Love the way your car is coming along. Go with the Blower it will match the big wheels in the back.
Can you tell me the rolling diameter of your rear tyres?

Regards

Thanks for the posts!!
Billy, I will take some measurements to give you heights, lengths and a profile....etc and send 'em through on a pm (unless anyone else wants them?)

Swivel, rolling diameter of rear is 684mm.
