I'm hearing you ........ I cannot stand back and look at it yet .... it's up on its side getting the 4 link done, BUT I did hava a piss poor go at modifiying a photo of a black EK (borrow from the forumstinky wrote:What Harko said, you're killing it right now, but don't "kill" it if you know what I mean. Take a step back and look at the car as a whole. Love everything but I'm in two minds about the flutes.Harko wrote:Love everything youve done so far , But the guard flutes scare the sh[t outta me![]()
I think maybe you need to start paying attention to overkill.

Hmmm....
good job with photo-shop - think it makes a statement concerning the flutes.....
to me - and I'm an old stickler for don't fix if it ain't broke - (wish I could do as I say and not as I do....) if you're going to go with them, they need something changed - the line of the rear of them doesn't run in sync with the flashline kit...... please don't take offence..... it's just me.....
Not sure what to suggest..... the rear of them seems too "square" to run in sync with the front of the flash......
Like DR's comments .... the front seems to blend.....
It's your mod.... EK4AUS .... it has to be what you want, not us.....
Love the theme..... dark tint windows will set it off...... good combination - black and polished metal...... the hydra and bonnet badges in red will just set it off..... again, this is me.....
bit concerned about the hi level brake light through the dark tint......?
frats,
Rosco
ps - MIG - all noted and archived.......thanks...

I think if it were me ,and Id spent the hours making them and I realy wanted to use them there in that spot .
Id paint the surround black and get it as flush to the guard as humanly possible , recess in some mesh to cover the flutes and brush finish the flutes to give it some depth and blend them ...
By the way , love how the build is headed.

V8EK4us,

Not sure it's controversy - but opinion was asked and honesty is always respected....... hopefully....
Those Austin Freeway panels were deeply recessed - the mesh in them with just one central flute worked..... at the time.
HK/T/G inclined flutes worked for the squarish body style - HQ etc horizontal for the elongated fender.....
Just haven't struck on an exact style for ours - but what you're doing Garry is almost there.....
my opinion..... no controversy - I hope.....

Nothing wrong with the photoshop job, it gives you a real good idea where you are headed.
Its good to see you thinking things through and asking for opinions and more to the point getting constructive responses. But in the end its your car your call. Which should turn heads for all the right reasons.
Keep the pics a coming!

Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.
had some more "thought" on this - but it's probably just crap......
in "Tinsel town" they had a tendency to extend some fittings in "dummy" fashion into the next panel...... don't know what/how or by how much.... but it's something not thrown up here yet - have to have a good play in photoshop to gain any visual..... probably crap - but it's beyond the square...
If it's a purely "functional" adornment - my alternative is just crap... ignore it.....
Noted in photo shop the quarterless front door window - anyone thought f doing the rear as well...... may not be possible - there's not a lot of room to lower the rear window.....
just hogging your thread, Garry......

I like 'em
I do agree that they look better thinned down around the outsides and follow the lines of the edge of the panel
These look great as well
