Oval rear windows were real early ones , I have one here thats a 56 model , 55 56 57 they ran for maybe and the even earlier ones back to 1948 were a split oval rear window , and the army issue had no rear window .

This is loose information only - not gospel so youll have to forgive me for not being up to date on the german stuff ,I much prefer Aussie and American :)

I checked this Bug out at the Shannons car show 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) AWESOME to say the least and the quality of the workmanship is brilliant!!

One has to be careful with these bugs....

Back in the '80's I was racing my XB F**%^$ V8 at the Oran Park drags.

A beetle pulls up next to me for a race. My first thought was..... :roll: :roll:

It quickly changed to...... :shock: :shock: :oops: .......when he was tearing down the strip, lifting the front wheels on each gear change.

Suffice to say he blew me away :roll:
