Hi all,

Just picked up an old grey motor, the engine number is B121592 just wondering what would it have been in originally, an FB?

I would think FB, being number 121592, and Holden made about 155000 FB's, Trev 8) .

Trev's spot on.

FB engines started at B 1001

EK engines started at B175814

So yours being B 121592 is an FB engine.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Down near the dipstick is a code K150 I seem to remember that this is the block casting date, if so does it mean 15/11/1960?

Yes. As I understand it, the letter indicates the month (A = January, B = February etc., so K = November). The first two digits indicates the day number in that month, and the third digit is the last digit of the year. So K150 is 15th November, 1960. There's also a foundry stamp on the head. It's on the top of the head on the other side of the engine near the firewall.
