EK Sedan......Whats it worth???

Post by gt »

I'm mulling over the possibilty of selling my EK sedan but have no idea what it would be worth in it's current condition.
Its been sandblasted (underneath as well) panel beated and sprayed in "Seaforth Green" acrylic.
Comes with NOS green seat trims (front and back), new front wheel cylinders, new rubber kit, NOS speedo, 4 original door handle scratch plates, new F & R windscreen rubbers, 5 new tyres, new shackle bushes and diff saddle rubbers, new "front of rear" spring bolts, new exhaust system, new kick panels and new star pattern hood lining ( already installed)....and probably more that I cant remember right now.
As it sits now it has all the front panels and boot lid mounted. Engine and gearbox are in and I've had the engine fired up with temp wiring.

What would be a reasonable asking price?

What ever you are happy to sell it for.
i think (know) anyone that has done a car up like this knows what it costs, so ask what you feel comfortable asking :D , Trev 8) .

Man, you are so close dont do it...................

I've had my FC sedan since i was 17 (just turned 40) and its pretty close to how yours is now, i thought about selling it but now i have got my enthusiasm back. Yes i could do with the cash but not that badly - so think hard before committing yourself to selling it.

You will get a lot more if its finished, then when its finished you will drive it and keep it. Then you will say, thank F*&^k I didnt sell it!!!!!!!!! looks really good. But seriously be worth a lot more completely finished. Good luck, and very nice colour!! 8) GT what do YOU think would be a fair asking price?????? you are the one who has put in the time money and sweat.

Iwould have thought you'd know better than to ask what its worth on a forum GT

In the end it's only worth what someone is willing to pay and who knows what that could be? Start unreasonably high and wait for the unreasonably low offers and it should be around the middle somewhere.....

But personally I'd say its worth more finished. Sure looks great and finished would be even better.
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

I totally agree with the other guys but looking at it and the wording that youve supplied Id say $7900au plus or minus (i really dont want to put a price but you asked) that depends on the condition of the running gear .Hey Im no Shannons guru and I might be out by thousands ,but at this moment in time thats what I thought ,,,,,Cheers Jason

If you have a look at the sedan pics I posted in "Spotto", $7900 is too cheap if it were finished.
Who knows, finish it off and you may want to keep it

the thing with an unfinished project is just that "unfinished" in my experiance you may have everything there with not another cent to spend but because it's not a "turn key car" nobody wants it and, unfinished it's prolly worth less than half it's finished value, it is prolly worth $7,000-$8,000 but i reckon you'de strugle to get $5,000-$6,000 IF everything's there to finish it, where as finished it's prolly a $11,000-$15,000 to the right person and if it's perfect in every way
