Pop up the ID tag pic and someone (maybe Terry/FBMAD) can let you know by the numbers on it.

There is a way of dating the year/month of manufacture of the window glass.I used to know how to date it but can't remember now  .

Something to do with the very bloody small dot above one of the letters in the "automotive safety glass' wording etched into the window glass on the doors.

Great if your car has original glass, not so great if it's a bits-of-this and bits-of-that car.

Someone here will know.

Dr Terry perhaps??

Some idea can be gained from the Body ID tag as well via the paint numbers and body/subframe numbers.

Again, Dr Terry is the expert in that field.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Yours was a December 1961 production.

I just know these things and I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.
Notice I said prove me wrong, not right.

I asked the same question some time ago on another post. Window markings are a guide (if you have original glass) and ID tags could give some indication once enough have been identified, but not yet I believe.

If by some unbelievable feat i am proven wrong on my date above for your car, I guarantee that I would be within 7 months of the right date.   That is a fact. :!: :!: :!:

Yep,

Paint 4584 is "Argosy Turquoise" which is a 1961 colour.

Your trim 1023 is "Mosaic and Jewel Turquoise with Stardust Grey".
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Matches, you may have missed my humour before.

EK's were made between May 1961 and July 1962, so Dec 61 was in the middle. :D :D

Based on colour being a 1961 production, I would like to change my prediction to 1st September 1961. If proven wrong on this one, I guarantee that it is within 4 months of the correct date.

Mate one trick mr jackson told me was lift up the original boot mat (if yoou have it). I never seen it, until yesterday, i lifted the boot mat in the ek, to clean the boot, and he was right. It was stamped clear as day.

Ahh finny mines april 61. Does that mean i have a hyracrappy fb?

Retro, it means you got one of the last of the prototypes before they worked out the problems and made the final model. :D :D :D

It's probably one of the better FB's

hi everyone!

on an old 2006 ACT rego cert i have, it says that hollys manufacture date was Jan 61. Does that mean that she was one of the first ek's to come out off the line prior to release in may 61.
