Sammy, Very clever! 10 out 10 for originality and thought.
Good use of lateral thinking to trigger the VN ECU by the use of a camira set up.
I have seen the Kalmaker system years ago, and did not realise it was still available. It will be good to when you get the tuning right.

Wow, interesting setup there, looks heaps like what one of the blokes on the FE/FC Forum is using for his 186 that's converted to EFI.

You should always take credit whenever you can. Even though you got the idea from elsewhere, credit to you for attempting and doing it yourself.
Now all you have to do is finish off the ute.
