Calling all Novacastrians!

Post by Brown Bear »

G'day all,

We are moving to the Newcastle area in the near future, and are wondering if anyone in the region would be able to point us in the direction of an early holden / classic car club?

I have come across the Newcastle Cruisers website - looks great! - but just thought I'd find out what else is going on

Cheers,

Matt

G'day Matt.
I'm not in Newcastle as such but live in the Upper Hunter and am a member of the Newcastle District Vintage Car Club (Upper Hunter Branch).Club caters from Veteran to 1970 any makes but no modified except for "period" modifications.Parent club is Newcastle based.

There is another club called (I think) '48 to '68 Holden car club. They used to have a website but I haven't been able to find it for 6 months or more.Based in Newcastle and I think from memory they allow modified cars in the club as well as originals.

I have the phone number somewhere of a member of the '48/'68 Holden car club so send me a PM if you're interested and I'll find his number and send it to you.

There is probably a few other clubs that are Newcastle based but can't find my list I used to have.

Alternatively buy a copy of "Just Cars" magazine from the newsagent and it has a list of heaps of National Car Clubs there at the back pages of the mag.Should be able to find a Newcastle based club that will suit you.

Hope this helps,

Terry.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Cheers Terry!

I've tried to pick up the 48-78 club, and it seems to re-direct to the gmh cruisers website. My FB is basically stock, save for a set of extractors and some custom tail light lenses, so a vintage car club shouldn't be a problem (other than the obvious temptation to get hold of another breed of 'stablemate'!)

Looking forward to the change of scenery anyway
