guys whats the go with these heater taps for fb's i see on ebay how do they work and are they any good says it is nasco but it is new

I am in the process of replacing the heater tap - the original warmaride died many years ago and I opted for a universal in-line tap unit.
One difficulty with the universal fit, is that as supplied it will work in reverse to the heater lever on the dash. I had to modify the assembly on the unit so that when the cable is extended - it opens the valve.
It is an in-line unit and can be purchased for around 20 dollars from some suppliers, 35 from others. The model number is HET 4008.
I found it easier to locate the in line tap just behind the air cleaner - it is relatively hidden and will function quite happily for years without service.

A thing to look out for is that some Grey Motors don’t have provision in the cylinder head for a heater tap {must be Queensland cars

} there is provision for a temperature switch. It’s just an odd thing that I have come across. ie one hole in the head not two.

And of course the water pump must have provision for the heater hose not all water pumps that I have seen have this feature.

nothing to stop you from driling and tapping another.
