parts cars

Post by Malcolm »

I heard a whisper that an old bloke around our area had 2 FB's, so, whilst actively patrolling (searching for these cars) I conducted routine investigations (asked everyone I could) about these cars.
Finally I found them and strangly enough when I left they followed me home.
Both cars are beyond repair but the first one had a full set of scratch plates, and all the side trims are in very good condition.

The second also beyond repair but it to had good trims. Both cars had sunvisiors and this one had a roof rack (must be NASCO original).
Question - did nasco make an accessory roof rack for these cars.

Anyway both cars I got for $200 so I'm sure I will be able to salvage many bits.
And finally I have the bits to make the FB couch I always wanted.

From the FE/FC site, one of the guys does a regular "accessory of the week" post.
There weren't any nasco roof racks though.

Hope you get a few more pix before you slice them up Malcolm............
the history these two have to tell..................

I note both must have been last driven by the same driver - likes to leave the driver's window down - hope you get heaps of spares from both of them......

in years to come, others would have taken these on to project - we can't grow any more.................. what's left are all that people will get the chance to work on.........

Still looking for those small thumbprint pix.........

frats,
Rosco

ps did they "follow you home" on a trailer - or did they "clock" your potential
I expect if you paid a visit in "tweetie"...... they'd have been doing circles around you on the way home........

Thanks Stinky,

Thats what its got on it.

Rosco,
Both cars were last registered in 1982. The more I look the more little things I find that will come in usefull.
Although I now have 3 sunvisors, 3 electric wiper motors, dash trims and a couple of sets of dash nob backings in good nick.

ST & DR,

They definately look better in the pictures than real life.

I would have love one of them to be sound enough to put back on the road without doing anything to the body but not to be

Dan, I now have 3 good FB grills and I know I have a good bonnet bar that I bought when the FB was going to be an FB and not an EK.
Will check and let you know

Have also found an EK van in a paddock in surprisingly good condition and an old time kustom ute in someones back yard (twin headlight job). The van I'm still trying to talk him around to selling it to me. May have to bring out the big guns and go around and see him again in tweetie, same with the ute.

If the missus finds out about this I'm history.

if you want to sell some FB side trims let me know, only need curved front door ones and the tops of doors and quarter
as others have said they certainly do look ok, but we're looking at pics and you have them there in front of you, and by now you should know where to look
my dreams........what ratbox would do at malcoms house running gear out of yellow car and into first FB pictured  8) 8) 8) :D
you certainly don't mind yor water tanks either
the other cars yor after have you been there "on duty" seems to work wonders for my mate, a couple he's been after miraculously become available when they find out his line of work

Hey RB,

The guy with the van knows what I do
The missus wants the new EK to have the FB side flash thats one reason why I bought these 2. The side trim look good on both. So that make 3 side time sets that I have now.
I won't be wasting any time getting them pulled apart but I havent had a real good look over the rest yet.

As far as the water tanks go, its 6 months between rain showers out here so you have to catch every drop
