THANKS! From a Yamba local.

Post by Silverfox XWGT »

Hi All
I am sure I am speaking for the majority of people in Yamba in saying THANK YOU to the organisers and Entrants of the Yamba Nationals.
It is a compliment that you guys chose Yamba for the venue.
It was great to see these fantastic old cars in large numbers and variety in our town.
Hopefully we may see the FB EK "Nats" back someday.
I hope everybody had a great time.
Regards
Nick Moran

G'day Nick,

Yamba was our first Nationals and we had an absolute ball :D :D :D .

We haven't been to Yamba since '85 and used to stay at the Blue Dolphin back then when it used to be affordable  .

It was good to see the town again. Not much has changed up on the hill but a hell of a lot has changed with all the new houses near Bi-lo area.

Some very good younger years memories for us were looked back on with our visit.

Glad the Yamba-ites enjoyed the Nats, we certainly did!! 8)

Cheers,

Terry.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for taking the time out to post up your message.

As you may have seen under the FB EK Nationals Category, all the posts about the Nats at Yamba have been positive. Everyone had a ball.

The Qld Club did a top job in organising the weekend and its great to hear the locals at Yamba also enjoyed the Nats.

Yamba is a great place. Personally speaking my family has holidayed there for a long time and will continue to do so...we love it.

So when are you getting an FB EK?...  :)

regards
Stewart

Hi Nick,
thank-you for your post.
As mentioned above, I have heard nothing but praise and gratitude for the wonderful weekend our people enjoyed in your locale.................

The people of Yamba and it's surrounding town's made us most welcome when we arrived on mass........... not one complaint of anything that I have heard........... I think a big thank-you should be extended to your townsfolk from all of us in making this the '08 nationals such a wonderful event and memory.........................please convey to all you come into contact with.

I do truly hope I did not injure one of your locals when it decided to test my reflexes on our departure, very early on the Monday morning (it decided to test the panels of my old bus with it's body as it bounded into contact) - it was seen to jump back into the bush somewhat dazed - I'm sure you'll be able to identify it - that Mequiar's polish/wax it stole from my dear old thing will take some time to wear off..........pic would be nice....

Again, Nick - thankyou for allowing us to share your wonderful town and the welcome we were afforded.............. guess you'll all be on a downer now that we have departed...............?

Hope the oil drips have waned away by now - it will take a few years before you again are subjected to our chanting old greys............ but from what I saw, you have plenty of human greys around to reminisce with.......

Very much chuffed with Yamba, the Clarence hamlets and the people who are so very lucky to inhabit this wonderful part of Oz............we'll be back for sure.....................
