Spacer plate between gearbox and engine block

Post by hammondo »

I preume there isn't meant to be anything there between them, but thought maybe I could put in a 4mm spacer to solve my clutch clearance problems. what do you think????

Its a 138 grey with a 3 speed manual.

Cheers

What exactly is the problem Greg
Wont the input shaft spigot enter the crank bush fully?
Is something else seemingly stopping it from homing?
We will need more info to solve this.

Hammondo, there is supposed to be something between the gearbox and engine block - a specially formed spacer plate.

If you don't have one then I guess it may be the source of your clutch clearance problems...

I have a couple spare - PM me your details and I'll mail one on to you

Cheers,

Matt

I was wondering if there was supposed to be something there, I seem to remember something like that on a red motor car I owned years ago and was wondering if it was missing.

The clearance prob is the pressure plate rubbing on the inside like sloth has said, was just looking for an alternative to grinding it down.

Matt I will Pm you
Thanks
