Re: LS1EK
Another job ticked off the list, stripped the front cross member and repainted it.
Next jon is to scuff down the underside, apply seam sealer and then stone guard.

Re: LS1EK
Underside all rubbed back and have now started applying the seam sealer.
Not far from getting the stone guard applied.

Re: LS1EK
Great work Taz,
Its fun getting the paint on, almost feels like you are finished !!!
Still a hurdle getting it back together, but the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer.

So many cars so little time!
Re: LS1EK
So keen to start the assembly, the car has been fully rebuilt and put together several times. I have parts sitting on shelves ready to be bolted to the car.EK283 wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2026 7:50 am Great work Taz,

Re: LS1EK
I reckon this is the most exciting fun part. The fear of damaging the finish in assembly being the downside. Great stuff Simon. Thanks for sharing.

Re: LS1EK
Fear of scratching paint is why I am only just painting the front end and rear end now. I intend to bolt these components, plus the brake lines, file line and fuel tank onto the car whilst on the rotisserie.Errol62 wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2026 9:59 am I reckon this is the most exciting fun part. Re: LS1EK
A bit more progress, all 100% sealed up underneath. A few
More suspension bits painted and some of the front suspension re-assembled.
Might get the stone guard done this coming weekend. All depends if the gun arrives which is required to apply the stone guard.

Re: LS1EK
I painted a few more areas on the underside before I apply the stone guard. Also re-assembled the front hubs.
It so good to be able to finish some areas of the car.

Re: LS1EK
Looking great Taz,
The unfortunate part about doing a great job underneath is when you finally drive it it cops stone chips mud and dirt in places you wouldnt think could get dirty. Mix in a little oil from seepage and its hard work to keep it all clean.
Oh well, what else have we got to do between drinks ???
