Grey motor fan shroud

Post by Blacky »

Been meaning to do this for quite some time- today was the day, we had a club meeting at Firekrakas yesterday and on the way home the old girl was getting a bit warm on the freeway in the 37 degree heat so seeing as today was going to be 39 figured a job in the shed out of the sun was a good idea

This is how far we got last time

Pressed some side pieces up

Then laid the ring over it to create the hole

Made top and bottom infill pieces using the genuine Holden brake drum former die

Tacked it all together then mounted it up on the ute for testing purposes

Is a rough draft for testing purposes, might look at angling the corners to improve airflow on the next iteration- took it out for a test run and it JUUUUUSSSSSTTTT rubs when making hard takeoffs uphill - the neighbours probably thought I was trying to do burnouts ImageImageImageImage
Will leave it on there for now and see how it goes before making Mk2 - there are a few in our club who are interested in one so will get it right then deconstruct it and have them laser cut

Looking good in the early design stage. That’s surely going to help with air flow and cooling.
