GPS speedometer advice

Anyone got a recomendation for a GPS speedo that fits straight into EK speedo hole?

No - but if its any help I had a speedo corrector box made to get the speedo accurate in my ute - was around $250 from memory - actually have 2 of them , one for 13" wheels and one for the 14" set.
Not sure if that's any help but happy to expand on it if it may be of interest ?

The classic instruments that i use are not GPS driven but can be set to the exact road speed you are travelling at.

The cluster also incorporates oil pressure, Volts and RPM.

Not sure if thats helps though.

Thanks for that, but I'm looking for a gps fed speedo that will fit into the instrument panel without much mucking about.

Does your gearbox have a cable or a hall effect sensor on it ? You can buy a magic box that converts an electronic signal from a hall effect sensor to a cable drive - I have one ready to fit into my 46 Chev if I ever get around to doing the engine/trans swap on it

Is there a specific reason you want to lose the stock speedo ?

Not the point, Blacky. GPS or GNSS, assuming use of Beidou, Glasnoss etc. as well as the original US military constellation, is as accurate as you can get, as long as you can see four satellites or more. Probably even work in tunnels now using “pseudo-lites”. It gives me confidence when I set the cruise and then go through a trap. Regardless, I need cruise first.

Not much help, sorry Brett. I am in love with the orange pie chart of speedometers, albeit not so accurate. I still refer to cell phone based gps when I’m pushing it in the old cars, and always in the daily.

It’s the sort of question that you’ll actually get a better answer for on Facebook, sad to say.

A few reasons Blacky. First is that with Celica box the cable drive is way off and I am not away of gear options. Second reason is that I want kms instead of mph. I have a heads up gps display which works well, and my original speedo is pretty close to being 10% slow with mph so it's all fixable but I just think a speedo replacement is easy option. Loosing the cable would be nice too. I see there are ones for sale that have little tachos included and that would work for me too.

Any easy option would be a HUD speedo, keeping your original gauge in place.

i've had 3 different GPS speedos reading 3 different speeds (2 apps on phone and 2 different actual GPS speedos) and all 3 also different to the speedo in the car, varied by 7kmh between the 4 and none worked in a long tunnel

No wonder you keep getting pinged mick

Being a surveyor I have access to high level Global Navigation Satellite System receivers, 0.1kmh precision, which I have compared to a Speedo app, and google maps, both on the same apple phone. They all agreed to the kilometre per hour.
