Cut down a 1/2” UNF bolt in my hand held milling machine and screwed it in there then gave it a couple of whacks with a centre punch to make sure it doesn’t come loose

Nice work Blacky,

Your obviously going to pick up the oil from the rear of the sump ?

The red engine loves to fill the rocker cover up so a drain from the rear of the cover back to the sump is also a good idea if you are going to ring its neck.

Its supercharged mate so not going for big revs, 6k maximum I would think - it will run out of cam beyond that .....

Got a bit more done today , not as much as I hoped - had a few distractions helping out neighbours , all 3 of them with various issues ImageImageImageImage
Rebuilt the pedal box , got the oil pump in , motor bolted back down , cleaned up the blower drive pulley, changed out the alternator plus a couple of other little jobs , oh and installed a power point on the hoist, got sick of the nearest outlet being 6 feet awayImageImage

You are probably on to this but the photo reminded me, I used a spacer from sonic injection on the thermostat lower housing so the rocker cover is easier to get on and off.

Yeah , the blower front support bracket goes on there and acts as a spacer, got 2 gaskets on the list of bits to pick up tomorrow

Worked on sorting out the steering and pedal box today , got a couple of hours in this morning then took the bride out to lunch in Fremantle and came home and mowed the lawn
Looks like it’s going to work, will probably buzz the flange off the subframe to give the steering shaft some more clearance

That's a great photo of you both Blacky. Good use of time to relax and catch up over a tasty meal and cold drink.
