Boot rubber comparison. The left side (solid base) one is a Better Auto Rubber boot seal. I could not get boot lid even close to being able to shut with that seal in place. The right one is a Rare Spares seal which is a much softer profile and with a little firm pressure the boot lid will shut. I don't know about water 'proof-ness' of either at this point.

The rare spares rubber looks much better
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

"rubber" is a loose term
are they both made with similar density? maybe heat up the better auto rubber one in the oven on low heat before install?

I may be wrong - again - but could be an auto and a manual gear selector
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

My 1960 (late) FB ute has the smaller gear knob. Cheers, Fraze

Agree. My FB has the bigger knob, whilst Graces EK has the smaller one.

Looks like the big knob for Wilma then.
On another matter, has anyone got a tidy EK wiper dash knob they would be willing to part with? I've lost Wilma's somehow.

What a lucky girl Grace is. It must be amazing to have an EK ute as your ride as a P plater. Mind you I had an EH as my first registered car but it was not considered anything special at the time ($500 paid).

Wired up dash today. Everything seems to be working. Headlining next job. Put some sealed beam headlights in yesterday:70/50s. Hope wiring can cope.
