Lift a dot / nutserts

Post by fbvan »

Harv wrote: Fri May 15, 2020 6:42 am The lift-a-dot posts behind the rear window are under a lot of stretch.... sikaflex will struggle. The panel is blind... cannot get behind it for a nut. Drill them out, nutsert them, and use the threaded lift-a-dot posts. Can send you some stainless nutserts in the right thread (metric) if needs be.

Cheers,
Harv
Hi Harv
I remember seeing a post for info on lift a dot supplier and using nutserts. But have searched and cannot find it.
Sound familiar? :sourrr: :sourrr: :sourrr:
Can you point me in the right direction please.

Regards

If you read back through this thread you'll see I got the M5 threaded posts from a mob in Melbourne named Paskal (www.paskal.com). Nutsert gun off eBay Topex brand.Image

Bit excited now. Martin has sent the floor mat. The car is being tilt trailered up the hill to the trimmer on Monday arvo for the head lining. Mate has sold his trailer and local servo no longer rents them out but it is costing me less to get it trucked than trailer hire.

Still can't get vintage wiring on the phone.

Rims are sitting next to the combustion heater on the living room floor curing.

Sounds great Clay you are getting there.
Vintage wiring did take quite a while to get mine to me but I would assume that they are shut due to COVID which is a bummer mate.

Yes I'm not complaining Neil. I feel for the poor buggers. Yes he quoted 10 weeks. When pressed he said he would bring it forward, not that I was pushy about it. Then the shit hit as they say.

Bled the clutch and fixed my problem getting reverse. While I was at it I replaced the crashie control lever seal with one of these.Image
It’s all tight as a drum now.

Now for a driveway test.

Spoke to Vintage wiring this morning and loom is still a good five weeks away. I haven’t cut and buffed the paint yet but yes looks good. Thanks Brett.

Cheers Stephen. Wheels are a mismatch of 7x14 Gumtree specials.
