The FE-FC front suspension is functionally equivalent to the FB/EK front suspension. But -

FE-FC king pins are the same diameter as 48/FJ; FB-HD king pins are larger diameter. The steering knuckle supports and stub axles look identical but don't interchange.
FE-FC lower control arms have a welded boss for the stabiliser bar and a single bolt-hole for the shock absorber; on FB-EK lower control arms the stabiliser bar attachment is integral, and there are two mounting holes for the shock absorber. Then the bump stop rubber is spherical on FE-FC (and FB), changing to conical on EK.
FE-FC front shocks have threaded studs top and bottom; FB-EK front shocks have an eye and press-fitted bush at the bottom. They don't interchange.
The upper outer pivot on FE-FC is the same as 48/FJ. On FB the pivot bolt was revised to a larger diameter, so the FB/EK upper outer pivot kits are different. The outer pivot hole on FB-HD upper control arms is larger than on FE/FC (and note also rebound stop rubber changes). Thus: FE-FC and FB-on upper control arms are dimensionally equivalent but don't interchange.
The FE/FC front crossmember has a different cross-section from FB/EK. If you're keen you can remove the sump in an FE-FC with the engine in place. You can't do that in FB/EK. The FB/EK front crossmember is probably stronger.
I don't know about control arm shaft diameter. Dr Terry?
FE/FC brakes have 1-1/2" linings; FB/EK front brakes have 1-3/4" linings. The brakes interchange as complete assemblies (backing plates, shoes, drums), but not as individual parts.

In short: just about none of the individual components interchange between FE/FC and FB/EK. I would happily bolt a complete FB/EK front suspension into an FC; but I would not fit an FE/FC front suspension into an FB/EK.

Picked up a decent SU for the Wray build - cleaned up really nicely - just need a brass nut cap to finish it off

Remind Fred that it is an angled float-bowl - he will need to tilt the carb-to-supercharger manifold to get it level again.

Parently there is a plate behind the float that can be turned around so bowl can be leveled without making a new manifold - the one that came with the Wray is pretty cool so hopefully I can keep it

Got some Chrome back and took a deep breath of relief - bumperettes are now passable and the bonnet bird and bonnet bar came up really nice - just need to make some new studs for the bar to put back on - realised the emblem in bonnet bar was a rare copy - could of sworn I had an original so something else to chase but they dont seam to survive.
Had a visit from Bill Reid of the Vic FB EK club to help me out with chasing some oil leaks and multiple other little jobs I wasn't getting time to fix - fitted a set of those Ebay brake drums - fit really well and the old ones are pretty stuffed so were well warranted.
Return Spring added to handbrake assembly
Rear Gearbox seal replaced
Tappets checked and rocker cover re-sealed (was leaking bad)
Some missing grommets added to electricals
Horn reassembled thanks to a spring contact from Graeme Sills and Bill showed me how to tune the High / Low Horns which were sounding extremely sick - the low worked perfectly but the High must have been a problem for guy who sold it to me as it just not working properly so Bill's going to have a play with it to see if it can be saved - I was wondering why the bracket seamed to be around the wrong way on it and thats why - it had been dissembled and put back together up wrong way - hopefully it works and I haven't wasted my coin as they are tricky to find.

Had a little teary moment as I realised one of the hubcaps had gone walk about on the last drive around - think I have another somewhere but can see these as being a problem - maybe i need a set of Jellies

Radio came back from Greg this week so will get that back in this weekend hopefully with a beverage or two.

Fred radman has just about finished the rotor for the Wray - some very cool work done - pics to come

Lol - yeah these things are not for the faint hearted but Fred is very reasonable and doing a great job carrying on the Wray history so its well worth it

Rob the plastic badges seem to survive reasonably well in my experience but then it may be because I sourced mine years ago and they are now less common? They are not hard to refurbish. As long as they aren't all cracked up.

Look forward to seeing the blower up and running at the woomba nats 8)8)8)

Been chipping away on some small jobs - correct tins in found another hi note cleaned and painted it but doesnt have terminals so need pinch those of the old horn when i get it back - bracket for ac filter painted ready to fit - new sedan springs painted ready to go in also Red motor genny bracket fitted so the PowerGen drops a better distance from block
