Serial# & code help

Post by Thommo »

Gday All
I thought I would use the chart here to check out the parts car I've just picked up.

The serial number reads:- EK225AUT - 2354A
EK225 = special sedan
AUT = :?
2354A - 2354th built in Adelaide

What is the AUT?

also
Trim 715 - 965 ???
Paint 585 - 0246 = Snowcrest White
Top 585 - 0285 = can't find it on the chart?

Can anyone fill the gaps for me please? :?

Hi THOMMO

The 'AUT' simply means automatic, so it must be have had a Hydra-Matic transmission.

The paint number is interesting. 0285 is 'Council Blue' which is a fleet colour. So the car must have been part of a particular council fleet.

A 965 interior is Rose Coral & Barossa Maroon.

Thank you Dr Terry
The car is fitted with a manual steering column, that threw me.
Its also had a 202/Trimatic fitted, but is assumed it was retro fitted.
'Council Blue' is interesting, especially with Coral & Maroon trim :shock:
That sounds like a council decission to me :roll:

I've seen quite a few council blues.

Police are usually called and you read about it in the next days paper!! :wink: :wink: :wink:

Terry.

Sorry Thommo, couldn't help myself!! :wink: :wink: :wink:
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

if it was a council decision they must have had a couple of years prior knowledge of what would be available in that year, with the speed they make decisions :roll:

Those numbers aren't on the chart, that was the problem :(

Being special order fleet colours,
would that make it a little more desirable to collectors?

wrong paint code

Post by mr.jones »

Sorry old post
Thommo I think you may have misread your top paint code as
comb no 715 is for Cameo Beige (235) over Snowcrest (246)
