finally got my pics onto the forum, BIG thanks for the help. Will get to the wheel trims but yes the drive is a big problem as my Compact Fairlane has to go in and out on an angle across the grass. ( I will wait for comments ) Have just bought the house and the next thing to do is fix the drive and that costs big dollars. Holden was a one owner from Dalby Qld and I fluked seeing it advertised for sale. The owner was early 80's and had eye trouble and could no longer drive it.I dealt with the daughter and she was as old as me early 60's. I have had to do a bit of general repairs for a car of its age that was taken to a modern sevice centre. They did not want to know it. It is also now fitted with LPG. Still has a real sweet grey that is staying. The car has been seen around a bit because it tows a matching 1957 retro caravan and gets a lot of media coverage. Anyway whats the go with my wheel trims. Will be joining the Club soon when I finish this bloody house and get some time to me. Bit off a bit more than I can chew with this place but it is home now. Parking during the week as you can see is a problem as we are near the Hospital and parking is premium. Hope all enjoy the pics

Nothing wrong with Compact Fairlanes! My brothers had two and one of my mates has one and a dash grafted into his A model coupe.

thanks but it gets a bit difficult when you like both styles of cars and not just who made them. They both have fins.I also have a mini just to confuse the issue.

I forgot the AB120 Inter truck as well. Did pre delivery service on it in1965 and it came into my life again last year.

Graham did you put the LPG on there or was it already there ? Interested to know how much power the grey loses by going to gas

Mmmm, now you got me curious - a grey on LPG. Would love to see some photos of the tank and carb/mixer out of curiosity. Is it an aftermarket mixer, or the original Strommie fitted with an LPG hat?

general running around you notice a slight loss of power on hills only but otherwise it is great and I usually run gas when towing the van and second gear is always there. Goes over the Gateway bridge in top gear with the van on but motor does drop back to the growl that is usual and hangs on. Sound like music to the ears.

The gas tank is fitted in the cargo area, yes I lose a bit of space but I am not bothered by that because I can use the car more often being cheaper than petrol. I had what they call a 'spud' like a small pipe threaded in that gives a venturi effect put into the carby simple to do just near the butterfly so that the volume of gas can be controlled. I have not had any problems in 5years that it has been on. A cap type as you ask is usually for V8's. Most 6cyl can have a 'spud' and are cheaper to install. If you ask would I do it again 'YES' for sure.
