Brett's EK Sedan

Post by Brett05 »

thought i'd drop these in here and start a thread on my "old girl". i was very lucky with the purchase of this car....i had my eye on it for 8 months. They had it for sale for $8500 but no takers in that time, so when i had my limit saved up ($5000) i offered it and they accepted it......long story short, it's now sitting in my garage. I'm not looking to spend a fortune on it....i just want a nice looking car to cruise around in on weekends....maybe a trip to work every so often. So for the time being i'm happy to run around with the paint the way it is......new "old Tasman wheels" given a make over.....new interior door trims, carpet and black seat covers. The previous owner had a thing for green and had the roof painted green with matching seat covers and the metal side covers on the seat. Plans from how it is now.....lowered, twin Stombergs, new exhaust, new shocks and bushes........once that has been done, i'll be just happy to drive it. Down the track....who knows...engine and brake upgrade.

thanks Wayne for the welcome, yeah, consider myself pretty luck to land this one. I had an FB ute 35 years ago and sold it, before I got to enjoy it. Won't make that mistake again

That's a nice looking car Brett. I'd say you've done very well for your $5K.

Nice work Brett, money well spent there. The wheels set it off nicely, enjoy the ride. Oh and welcome to the forum.

Thanks guys, for the comments.......lower......yeah, every time I go out to the garage, I say to myself..."dam it, it needs to be lower. One step at a time......that's my next buy. Lower it shall be....a few weeks and I'll be sitting in dirt city (even if it's just sitting in the garage...it'll be lower. Time and money.....I have plenty of time, but no money... :) have just ordered the front suspension and sway bar bushes, I can go from there.......so keen to take her for a run....but one must be patient. This site is a wealth of info.....thanks to all for their contribution :)

well it's been a while since I posted in here.....those of you that are members of the Facebook page will no doubt have seen this, but I thought I'd update my build/story in here. First up, I have had an absolute ball working on this car. She's no show car, but I'm pretty stoked with how she coming along. Suspension, brakes, interior, exhaust, wheel alignment and now engine have all had a refresh. Still not on the road, but not far off (but I'm in no hurry). This forum is a wealth of information and without the input from you guys, people like myself would be left wondering how to do some of the repairs/mods....so a big thanks guys....awesome forum

Looks sweet mate - seems like you know what you are doing - if this forum keeps one more old girl a year on the road then we are on a winner :D

Looks even better now after the work you have done. Not too sure about your choice of drink though.
