Grille bars

Post by Blacky »

I am out bush again for the next week or so and I need to know the distance between the horizontal slats on both an FB and an EK grille . Could someone please measure them up for me ? We are having grille badges made for our club and I need to make sure they will straddle the bars on both models .

Thanks in advance !!!!!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Ok, had a bit of a measure up with a steel rule and eyeball. I know millimetres weren't invented back in 1960.
FB bars 12mm thick, 37mm gap between. So a badge with the bolts 61mm apart will fit. (thats clearance from top of thread to top of thread, not bolt centres)
EK bars 15mm thick, 27mm gap between. So a badge with the bolts 57mm apart will fit.
FB bars are 50mm wide and EK bars 28mm wide, so bolts have to be at least 50mm long plus spacers, washers, nuts.
At least 61mm gap between bolts will fit both ( up to 85mm to straddle 2 bars).
If anyone else wants to double check, feel free and let us know if I'm wrong.
Hope this helps Blacky.
