hi everyone .. was thinking of getting a tig welder to tack patches in place before oxy welding ,, have not used 1 before so thought id seek views from the group. can arc, oxy weld so hoping its not too dif ..
have been told tig is better cos welds are smaller and softer less grinding

Hey dave why not just get yourself a mig.That would do the job ok.Not much to grind for tacking.

Hi Dave, a mate of mine invested in a TIG and he says it's the ducks guts, very little if not no grinding after any weld. Sounds like the way to go to me, I'm feeling just a touch jelous after using a MIG on my wagon :evil: , Trev 8) .
