VN SS V8 Gearbox

Post by Coopa »

How's $990 sound for a VN SS V8 gearbox, tail shaft, torque converter & flex plate from a gumtree seller?

No not as far as I am aware, but I'm having a bit of trouble trying to locate a gearbox for the sbc on the little island, I might have to get one from the big island and freight it over

I paid $1200 to do a full h/duty reco on my T700 box for my wagon, can ask a mate but I'm pretty sure there isn't any diff between a SS box and a standard 5ltr box, just that mentioning SS gets you a bit more coin

The guys that did my box said be careful anout buying reco boxes, some joints don't completely reco them and use cheap gear inside, turned out the box I had had been reco'd at some stage but wasn't done right, guys showed me it all when it was pulled apart,

Dont be sucked in by pricey ss stuff. As bumper said, most bog stock 5lt stuff is the same.
I bought a faded 5lt belina off an old cocky for $1400 that had a reco t700 in it. They're around, just gotta look hard!
