yeah i welded the door tops on then filled the gap
i thought if i did another one that i would use a rear window out of something else but wasn't sure what it would look like with the sides filled in, by sides i meen the wrap around part of the rear window
i put some pics up of the chop before asking if someone could photoshop it filled in but got no response

harko you are a master with that angle grinder, been looking at this months hot rod annual and falling in love the fj 3 inch chop cartoon, thinking of attemping that and you are giving me inspiration.
Buddy, quick question, would fe sedan door uppers give you a better angle for the slope on the rear window?

I am sorting through over 30 years of photos of cars I have built, and scanning them for a web site on my buisness that should be up and running in a month or so.
In time I hope to do a selection of How To's
Some will be based on previously published magazine articles, others from material never seen before

Having people keen and in and amongst helps keep you keen.
The experience that is held by the people on this site like yourself Harko, Ratbox and Smoooth customs....well I just feel a little privliged to be exposed to it.
Keep at it Harko.
And thanks guys for being on the site and making it a great place to visit.

Paul,I will be visiting Scotty in about 4 weeks to fix his internet connection will get him to post the chopped two door concepts as I don't have themSmooth customs wrote:Holier than who?
Why is it that people think I only built show quality cars??
You owned my wifes old Chopped Morris, that was built as a driver! It got a little better as time went on, but it was still a driver
Scotty Harrod worked on a design concept for a chopped two door many years ago, then he and I work on some new ideas and it evolved into two wilder versions.
I wish I was in a position to build it at the moment, or even post pictures of his concepts. They are in a folder somewhere? then I have to master posting pictures.
Spaceace may have a copy of them that he can post.

My family have been at me for a couple of years to get a web site.
I dont self promote, and have not come here to tell anyone how it should be done or how good I am?
For the purpose of drumming up work for myself
I see enough of that on other sites, and dont think Forums like this are the place for that.
But like everyone else, I will offer some input on topics that I have some experience in and think may help.
The cars I am seeing here on this site are fantastic, with some brilliant ideas in there inovative modifications.
Over the years I have owned a lot! of early holdens and have a soft spot for FB EK's. At the moment I am doing an EJ as a daily driver and hope to do an FB EK custom as a next project.

I will be looking in later tonight for some update photos on your project

K then heres some more pics ,
I measured and remeasured my photoshop concept and the chop on it is somewhere between 2 and 2 1/2 inches and if you look at the pic its photographed from below the roof line which is giving a false impression.
When I marked it up I put a squared line at 2 and 3 inch marks so I could cut the 2 inch first and have a look at it to see if it works .
Its not working for me as yet ,I need to get a car out the way so I can see the side profile better and lower it down to get the correct ride height.
My cut on the rear of the roof could have been in a better position also so I think I will have to add a little and delete a little further back to allow it to drop more . Another half inch lower at the front and 1 inch at the back me thinks .

This pic below is photoshopped down so its easier to see the proportions.
