Hey Brett will that end of the exhaust be okay?
I could be wrong, I will have to check the codes, but I thought it had to be behind the last opening of the cabin, which would be the tailgate. I think it looks cool in that spot though.
Tank looks good, whats the plan for a spare...or is "no spare the plan" :)

My mechanic has looked at it mate and he said it is fine and would pass Rwc like that, same as a panel van in that respect only has to be so far past the last opening on the side of the vehicle, should be better like this as with the wagon, the amount of fumes you get when you have the tailgate open while driving when the exhaust is out the back.

Yes no room for a spare, but if I was to get into trouble it shouldn't be hard to find a commodore 15' interceptor, on long trips I'll just carry a spare in the back plus I have full roadside assist (paid for itself 5 times over the first year I had it!!!)

it'de be a push or long tailpipes if out the back cause I think it's 6" past the last opening window but as brett said pretty sure it's passenger window, pretty sure HD/HR wagons actually had a factory tailpipe that exited at the rear but to the side

brett I have 2 of those caps in my shed when you hit a gutter

Yeah, you should be right Brett like your mechanic said. I just re-read the NCOP and it say exhaust must be rearwards of the passenger side entry door or opening window, but it also says to check with ADR 42 where applicable. I don't have a copy of that ADR. I am pretty sure I have seen a few cars with exhaust at that spot, I just worry about how anal the police are getting these days with modified cars.

Reached a point today with my build, dunno how many of you had seen but my first wagon was for sale on Facebook/car sales , it felt so good seeing her again, the price it was at to begin with was out of my range, after a couple of months they dropped their price, within my reach, applied for a loan and contacted the seller, made an offer, then spoke to him and he accepted, to cut a long story short after about 5 days I get a text of him saying his now having second thoughts about selling it, I was heartbroken at first, but it might be a blessing in disguise as I'm going to do a full resto on my wagon while it is apart, at least I know what has been done and it all is getting done properly! So today was spent stripping her, one bad bit of rust has been found but other than that all Is good, don't like my chances of making Nats this year with my wagon so looks like Qld will be it debut! Here are a few pics

Probably a good move doing the full rotisserie build while its apart, if you had of gotten it going I don't recon you would have wanted to pull it all apart for a very long time. .
If I still had my wagon I'd have to let you or DR take it to the nats. .

Give me a heads up on when I can come up and help clean up the car with you, have wire wheel at the ready. .

This build just got even better!!

Was wondering what that bar across your tailgate was, will be interesting to see how the rotisserie turns out. I want to make one for mine, but have limited shed roof clearance!

Keep the updates flowing
