This is Don Seawards &*#@ custom

I found it in a very run down condition over ten years ago
Using original build photos I did a story on the cars history and custom changes in an issue of the Newsledder.

The remains of this custom are now with Adam Chivers of Rebel Restorations

Larry O'Toole also featured this custom in his latest Hot Rod History book.

I have the side pipe ends that are shown in the feature photos, am going to repair them and have them replated.

Don built the car in the 60's
A second change in the overall look took place after a small front end accidient.
He built a new front on a parts car at home before fitting it and then changing part of the rear, a new "Pink" paint job finished it off.
It was shown like this in Queensland and as far south as Sydney where it was displayed at the Roselands show.

This was Dons drive car and was no slouch in the go department either

In the late 60's he moved to Sydney to work and the custom was parked in a shed at his parents. Some time later the shed was needed for some work on his brothers car and the brother moved it outside where it sat for over 10 years
On Dons return to Brisbane he concidered redoing the custom but other interest and new projects saw the custom sold.

Sean bought the car somethime later from an owner down the coast that had done nothing but park it

The custom front was taken to the dump and stock front panels aquired.
The pink paint was sprayed over with flat black and the project failed to progress any further.

this is where I saw it and wrote the story on its building in the Newsledder and that it was for sale

The new owner was from WA and he had the car shipped to Rebel restorations where it sat till the new owner made up his mind how the project would be done.

Several years later the car was still waiting for a decision on what to do.
the owner had a couple of other projects and Adam ended up owning the custom

He still has it but again it is still waiting for time and money to concider what its fate will be.

I shared a house with Sean while he owned that car its a shame that at the time I was too busy chasing girls (Pre my wife) and driving a two tone green FB with a flash kit to realise the historical value of it. I can remember the quad headlight front can remember when he first got it and then pulled it to bits. Shame Shame Shame. 8) 8)

Do you really think he wanted a Holden, why with a Fc headlight surrounds and rear window glass, and Fb/Ek rear lights, but then again he's looks totally confused.

I love the work done to this car & the many changes it underwent over the years..."a true custom is never reallly finished..it evolves!"
