After getting it rego,ed yesterday I got to take it for a test drive. Got home and temp light was on but she wasn't boiling.
She was certainly warm to touch but not over hot.
Anyway today I'm taking the radiator in to be professionally checked, going to put a new thermostat in it ( current one opens in boiling water) and a new cap. It has new hoses and hasn't lost a drop of water. The sensor is a new one in the front of the head.
Anything else I need to try?
Temp light on but not boiling.

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital
ingredient in beer

Re: Temp light on but not boiling.
John,
a) have radiator mob flush radiator and blow all the dead locusts out of the cooling fins,
b) backflush the block while the radiator is being flushed,
c) check your timing.
Cheers,
Harv

Does the light come on gradually? If so it might be one designed for a temp gage not the idiot light.

Thanks Harv, will do.
Trev, you might be right actually. I think theres a genuine one on the Old EK wagon. Might swap them over and go for a drive.

Re: Temp light on but not boiling.
I was told to use a 10 pound radiator cap, instead of the recommended 7, to reduce overheating.
