Rear sway bar

Hi All,
I am after some advice on kits, mounts etc for a rear sway bar to suit my FB van.

currently running a 10 bolt Salisbury.

I will post the information I have gathered regarding this topic

Only a couple of companies out there that can help with custom sway bars, pedders, fulcrum etc.

If you require similar to me - FB window less panel van modification including Holden 5 ltr (old school red motor)

HR front end with front mount rack (no bump steer)
EH main bar with HR arms to the mounting points on lower control arms (Selby sway bars NSW)
Alien Retro mounting kit inclusive of mounting brackets (to be welded on to lower control arms)
Bracing rod - to be welded onto lower control arm after original mounting point is cut off
And shorter riser pins to clear tie rod ends

Rear end - 10 bolt Salisbury
Selby sway bars again for custom sway bar and mounting kit

Cost for me is approx $800 including freight

Hi all

Picking up on this topic, I'm having a bit of trouble fitting a Whiteline sway bar to my wagon. Unfortunately Mr Whiteline didn't see fit to include instructions, other than some generic crap that doesn't help at all, and his website is just as unhelpful.

Problem is the bar "fits" about four different ways - under the diff housing, over the diff housing, parallel arms facing forward, parallel arms facing backward (& all the permutations of the above) - but none of which look right to me. I've done a search of the Forum and can't find any photo's of how it should look - so has anyone fitted one of these & got some advice (or preferably photo's) please?

Hi Steve, my van is in Cairns to. The custom sway bars have not turned up from Selby Swaybars yet. When they do I will let you know and you can have a look at how mine fit. Hope this helps. Wouldn't mind a look at our ride next time I'm in town.

Thanks Mark,sounds good. Just give me a hoi if you're over this way. In between time I might post up a picture of how I settled (for now that is) on mounting mine, just to see if there are any further views out there.

Pictures at last (you can't rush these things). This is the way I settled on mounting the rear bar, but I'm worried about the angle of the parallel arms relative to the springs, and how the arms don't align "properly" in the bushes. Can anyone tell me if this looks right or wrong please - and if the latter, what I should do to correct?

Keep us informed steved57 as I am very interested I don't have a lot of room I was under the impression that the sway bar went at the back of the diff

I am also about to buy a sway bar for my stock ute.
I was thinking of purchasing a front and rear bar from Whiteline so I'm keen to here from anyone else who has fitted these on there car..

Update:

When I tried to chase up a rear sway bar for my Ute I was surprised to find White-line no longer makes them for FB - EKs.

After three days of on-line searching I found an aussie company in NSW that still makes a rear sway bar kit for my EK ute. I called a phone number on the site and spoke to a bloke named Tony. Tony explained everything to my satisfaction even though it was his day off, I told him I'd post his company's details on here as a thank you for his service.
According to Tony, MAKO manufactures on order so a three week turnover is to be expected.

60- 64 FB - EK - EJ Sedan /SW

FRONT: ..SH04F . group2 . 22mm . R . $211.00

REAR: . . SH03R . group4 . 18mm . K . $265.00

NB: the "group" is the company's price group.
K = Kit.
R = Replacement

Although I did get stung with $52.00 postage, I was just happy to find one, at any rate this should save others some headache / legwork.

I have used a Fooord XP rear bar from whiteline. I had to weld some brackets on the chassis. I never liked the spring type bars so I measured heaps till i found the right one. I think it was about $175.00 at the time.
