fitting red motor to ek with auto whats involved

Hi i am nearly about to start on my ek, it still has grey motor and hydromatic gearbox, and i have purchased a hr front end if i put a red motor in wich auto will fit in without changing floor tunnel and also does any one know if you can still buy new callipers for hr disks, cheers

Think you'll find a Trimatic will fit fine. As for HR calipers, not sure. Have you got old ones to rebuild?

DR's on the money i think just about any auto you want will fit in the tunnel, certainly a trimatic or powerglide will definately fit

I used to have the same, put in a 161 with a trimatic and its all good
definitely do the front end now though, my old one is rooted and I have to get this HR one sorted.

You will need to make a gearbox crossmember, another option is to buy the trimatic to grey motor adaptor kit and use some of the kit in that to hook it up.

Instead of chucking a HR front end in it would it be possible to just put on HQ front disks instead of the drums?
